Tocat

--- CONTENT--
Tocatì – International Festival of Street Games, is an Italian event of Traditional Games and Sports that takes place every year in Verona in mid-September.

The name of the festival comes from the expression veneta toca a ti, that is your turn.

The event is focused on the rediscovery, valorisation and safeguarding of the Games and Traditional Sports that are practised by communities of players and players, as it is considered a fundamental part of the culture of a territory, as recognized also by UNESCO in the International Charter of Traditional Game, stretched in 2003.

The Tocatì, organized since 2003, takes place in an area of 200,000 square meters of the historical center and has the duration of three days, during which the traditional Ludiche communities offer over 50 games, between the Italian ones and those of a guest of honor: every year, in fact, a delegation of games from a country or region of the world is hosted.

The event is organized and conceived by the Associazione Giochi Antichi Verona, in collaboration with the Culture Department of the Municipality of Verona, and enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the Veneto Region and the Province of Verona. The Tocatì of Verona was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on December 1, 2022.
