Biography
Former student of architecture, Tomaso Sherman begins with a long collaboration with the director Gianni Serra, with whom he works as an assistant director for the theatrical show Cassio governs in Cyprus by Giorgio Manganelli (Biennale di Venezia 1974) and the film Fortezze empty - Umbria: a political response to madness. Then as a screenwriter to the movies The Black moves, The Girl of Via Millelire and the TV series of Rai 2 What to do?, for which he is awarded the Flaiano Award 1980.

In 1977 he debuted as a director in the TV film It was so, inspired by Natalia Ginzburg's novel. Various other television productions will follow, mainly concentrated between the second half of the eighties and the early nineties, including I saw killing Ben Barka, The Devil in the bottle from Stevenson, The Escape of General Roatta, Guglielmo Giannini, the ordinary man, Rose, Requiem for voice and piano.

Sherman makes two films: Duet (1981), starring Patrizia De Clara, Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for Mary's Interpretation, and Jennifer's Five Roses, taken from the homonymous play by Annibale Ruccello. Sherman is also among the directors of the TV series Specchio palese, The boys of the muretto of 1991, Incantesimo.

At the theater he signs the direction of The perfect love of Roberto Bracco and Ellen Dean - Timely peaks, written by Sherman himself with Patrizia La Fonte. For the "teatro on television" I mafiosi di Leonardo Sciascia and the television resumption of Medea, with Mariangela Melato. For Rai 3 comedies The Carousel Descartes - Pascal the young man by Jean-Claude Brisville, Pazza di Elvis by Hanif Kureishi and La musica deuxième by Marguerite Duras.
