Trochoidea liebetruti

Trochoidea liebetruti

Classification and Taxonomy

Trochoidea liebetruti is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Geomitridae, commonly known as the hairy snails and their allies.

Distribution

This species is endemic to Cyprus. It has been reported that Trochoidea liebetruti is also found in Brazil, but this information appears to be an error, as all reliable sources confirm its exclusive presence in Cyprus.

Conservation Status

Trochoidea liebetruti is considered almost threatened with extinction due to its limited geographic range and potential habitat degradation.
