History
Kharkiv Turbine Plant (now Turboatom JSC) has become one of the world's largest turbine-building enterprises, which carries out a full production cycle: design, manufacture, supply, adjustment, branded maintenance of turbine equipment for all types of power plants.
Kharkiv Turbine Plant (KhTGZ) was built in 1929-1934, for three and a half years and on January 21, 1934 was put into operation.
In 1935, the first stationary steam turbine with a capacity of 50 MW descended from the factory stand, and on July 26, 1938, the first steam turbine with a capacity of 100 MW and a generator to it were manufactured.
Before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the plant manufactured and supplied the country with turbines, the capacity of which was twice the capacity of all power plants of pre-revolutionary Russia.
In connection with the approach of the front line in the autumn of 1941, the plant was evacuated to Sverdlovsk and in December 1942 began production of turbo units, spare parts for steam turbines, as well as products for the front.
After the liberation of Kharkov on August 23, 1943, the restoration of the almost completely destroyed plant began, in 1944 the plant produced the first steam turbine with a capacity of 50 MW for the Zuevskaya GRES, orders were fulfilled for the repair of turbines for power plants of industrial centers of Donbass, Kharkov, Kiev.
Restoration of the workshops was largely completed by mid-1946.
The profile of the plant finally developed in the 1950s. The plant began to specialize in the production of powerful steam and gas turbines.
In 1953, work was carried out on the technical re-equipment of the production of steam turbines, as a result, in 1953-1954 the plant mastered the production of hydraulic turbines for hydraulic power plants, and the production of generators was transferred to specialized plants.
In a relatively short time (1955-1958), steam turbines with a capacity of 100 and 150 MW were designed and manufactured, and in 1960-1965 - steam turbines with increased steam parameters, with a capacity of 300 and 350 MW for the Pridnestrovian, Krivoy Rog, Zaporizhzhia, Ladyzhinsk, Troitsk, Reftinsk, Tripoli, Nazarovsk and other GRES.
In 1965, the first single-shaft steam turbine with a capacity of 50 was manufactured at the plant
