Turkish Accreditation Authority (TÜRKAK) was founded in November 4457 in 1999 in accordance with the Law No. 4457, today is a public institution with non-profit administrative and financial autonomy regarding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the provisions of private law. The qualifications of conformity assessment organizations are based on international standards and fulfills its evaluation and approval task. TURKAK, which complies with the ISO/IEC 17011 standard; to accredited local and overseas organizations to conduct laboratory, certification and inspection services, and to perform activities according to the national and international standards determined by these organizations and to provide national and international validity of product/service, system, personnel and laboratory documents.

Mission
In Turkey and in the environmental countries, compliance assessment services have been committed to providing reliability and international acceptableness.

Vision
The accreditation services needed in the field of eligibility assessment are to be a global organization that provides international recognizable and contributes to the increase of reliability of compliance assessment services.

Management System
In accordance with the ISO/IEC 17011 standard, which includes the rules to comply with the accreditation bodies in the international area, therefore, has a documentary management system that complies with the ISO 17011 standard.

International Recognition
The EU accreditation association (EA) has been given full member status in 2002.
In 2006 with European accreditation union (EA), Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MLA) was signed.
