Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce

The Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (Turkish: Kıbrıs Türk Ticaret Odası) is a chamber of commerce that represents businesses in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It was founded in Nicosia in 1958.

History

The chamber was established in 1958 with the aim of supporting and advising businessmen in various subjects. Initially, it operated from a small two-room building on Ankara Street in Nicosia before moving to a larger location at Cengiz Han No: 1 in Mansion Farm. In 1985, the chamber relocated to its current premises in Bedrettin Demirel Street.

Membership and Activities

As of 2011, the chamber has around 3000 registered members, although some sources suggest that there are approximately 9 thousand members. Membership is obligatory for Northern Cypriot businesses. The chamber's activities include providing support, advice, and ideas to its members, as well as maintaining a strong presence in the business community.

Leadership

The head of the current board of directors is Shua Saraçoğlu.
