1981 Turkish Cypriot General Elections

The 1981 Turkish Cypriot general elections were held on June 28, 1981, to determine the President and National Council members of the Turkish Federal State of Cyprus.

Results

### State Presidency

Rauf Denktaş was elected as the President with 51.71% of the votes.

### National Council

A total of seven parties participated in the parliamentary elections:

* Turkish Union Party (TKP)
* Social Justice Party
* National Target Party
* Republican Turkish Party (CTP)
* Democratic Party (DHP)
* United Cyprus Party (UCY) is not mentioned, but UBP and TBP are.
* **United National Party (UBP)** formed a coalition with the DHP and the TBP.

Background

These were the second parliamentary elections in the Turkish Federal State of Cyprus. The election was held simultaneously with the presidential election.
