Turkey Revolutionary Workers Unions Confederation (or briefly DIGISK), was established by the Turkish-Business, Tire-Work, Press-Work and independent Food-Business, Turkish Mining-Business (Zonguldak) unions and Kemal Türkler, Riza Kuas, Ibrahim Güzelce, Mehmet Alpdundar and Kemal Nebioğlu. After closing with 12 September Military Impact, it was reestablished on January 19 1992. DİSK is an independent class and mass organization.

The current head is Desire Çerkezoğlu. Headquarters Şişli is located in Istanbul.

DİSK is a member of European Unions Confederation and International Unions Confederation.

History

1961-1967: Turkish Labor Party and union struggle

1967-1971: DIPSK’s organization u
Mining-Business, Rubber-Business and Press-Business unions have decided to leave and consolidation from Turkish-Business in the extraordinary congress they made in February 12 1967. In February 13, 1967, DSK was founded with the participation of Turkish Mine-Business in Independent Food-Business and Central Zonguldak. On this date, the owner of the petition for the Governor of Istanbul with the authority of the representation given to them 5 people; the Chairman of the Mine-Business General Kemal Türkler, the Head of Tire-Business and the TIP Ankara MPvekili Riza Kuas, the Head of the Press-Business President Ibrahim Güzelce, the Head of Food-Business and the TIP Tekirdağ MPvekili Kemal Nebioğlu with T. Mehmet Alpdundar, General President of Mine-Business (Zonguldak). On the same day, Kemal Türkler was selected to the general president of the new conpheration in the first general assembly in the Şafak Cinema in Istanbul Circlelitaş.

The General Assembly was held in Bank-Sen-Business Congress Hall on June 15, Turkey Revolutionary Workers Unions Confederation Executive Board Kemal Türkler’s Secretary General Ibrahim Güzelce (General Secretary), Kemal Ayav, Macit Karabulut and Şinasi Şengün and Riza Kuas, Kemal Nebioğlu, Mehmet Alpdundar, Şinasi Kaya and Ehliiman Tuncer were elected member of the Founding Board.

In order to protest the Work Law in force on June 24, 1967, the organization has been organized by Tandoğan Square in Ankara, which has been the first mass action of this DİSK. In the same period, Gevryeloğlu Mensucat, working in Istanbul, the textile member workers were striked on disputes, the strike was removed by the agreement on 29 August.

DIGISK on 24-25 February in 1968 2. The General Assembly was collected in the Turkish Teacher Union (TÖS) hall. In the same dates, 25,000 workers in the Kozlu and Üzülmez districts of Zonguldak were left to work from 6 and 7th of February. 13 police were injured in actions in conflicts with marches and security forces, a headphone disappeared. Two mining workers who return to the village after events were killed. The actions ended with the collective contract signed on February 21.
