The Turkish lira icon (₺, image:) is the symbol used in the Turkish Republic of Turkey and Northern Cyprus, which is considered as of 1 March 2012.

The standard use of the currency with international three letters is ISO 4217) TRY.

In May 2012, the Unicode Technical Commission accepted the U+20BA TURKISH LIRA SIGN coding for the new icon and published Unicode Standard version 6.2, which includes the new icon in September 2012.
