Türkvizyon Song Contest 2015

The third edition of the Türkvizyon Song Contest took place on December 19, 2015, at the Yahya Kemal Beyatla Cultural Center in Istanbul, Turkey.

Background

Originally planned to be held in Mary, Turkmenistan, the competition was later relocated to Istanbul. The contest featured more than 20 countries and regions with predominantly Turkic populations or widely spoken Turkic languages.

Participating Countries

A total of 21 countries took part in the competition. New participants included Belarus, Kosovo, and Northern Cyprus, which joined after a one-year break. Serbia and Syria also made their debut in this edition. However, some countries that had previously confirmed their participation withdrew at short notice, including Russian regions due to tensions between Turkey and Russia.

Results

The contest was won by Zhiydesh Idirisova from Kyrgyzstan with the song "Kim bilet", scoring 194 out of 200 possible points. Kazakhstan took second place, while Turkey secured third position.

Notes

This edition marked a significant shift in the competition's dynamics, with several new participants and withdrawals due to geopolitical tensions. The contest continued to showcase the rich musical diversity of the Turkic world.
