UEFA Nations League League C 2018-2019

**League C of the UEFA Nations League**
=====================================

**Format**
-----------

League C is the third division of the UEFA Nations League, a competition involving the national men's teams of 55 UEFA member associations. It consists of associations ranked from twenty-fifth to thirty-ninth place at the UEFA Coefficient of Nations.

Initially, League C was divided into three groups of four teams and one group of three. However, due to changes in the format for the 2020-2021 edition, the second-placed team in each group is also promoted to League B, while relegation has been cancelled.

**Competition Structure**
-------------------------

League C started on September 6, 2018, and ended with the last group games on November 20, 2018. The national teams were divided into their respective leagues according to their UEFA coefficient.

In the inaugural edition of League C, 15 teams competed in a group of three and three groups of four. The group winners (Scotland, Finland, Norway, and Serbia) were promoted to League B. The team that finished last in each of the three groups of four (Estonia, Slovenia, and Lithuania), as well as the worst third-placed team (Cyprus), were relegated to League D.

**Qualification for the European Football Championship**
---------------------------------------------------

The top-ranked teams in League C that failed to qualify for the Euro 2020 playoff phase participated in a qualifying tournament. The winner of this tournament secured one of the four qualifying places for the 2020 European Football Championship.
