Adoption
United Nations Security Council Resolution 324 was adopted on December 12, 1972.
Content
After reaffirming previous resolutions on the subject, the Council extended the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus for another period ending on June 15, 1973. The resolution also called upon the parties directly involved to continue working with maximum restraint and complete cooperation with the peacekeeping force.
Voting
The resolution was adopted by a vote of 14 members in favor, while China abstained from voting.
