The US Open 2012 were a tennis tournament played on DecoTurf outdoor concrete fields. This is the 132nd edition of the US Open, the fourth and final Grand Slam test for the 2012 ATP World Tour and the 2012 WTA Tour. The tournament took place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. The outgoing male and female singulars were Novak Đoković and Samantha Stosur. In the single female winner for the fourth time in career is Serena Williams while in the male he had the best in a five-set finish Andy Murray, to his first Slam in career.

Summary
Andy Murray won the single men's tournament by beating the Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr. who lost with the score of 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. In the second round he had the best on Croatian Ivan Dodig in three sets with the score of 6-2, 6-1, 6-3. In the next round he had to play four sets to beat Spanish Feliciano López beat 7–6(5), 7–6(5), 4-6, 7–6(4). In the eighth finals he defeated the Canadian Milos Raonic in three sets for 6–4, 6–4, 6–2. In the quarters he had the best on Marin Čilić who lost with a score of 3–6, 7–6(4), 6–2, 6–0. In the semifinals he beat Czech Tomáš Berdych in four sets with a score of 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7–6(7). In the final he defeated Novak Đoković in five sets with a score of 7–6(10), 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2.

Serena Williams won the Women's Singles tournament. In the 1st round he beat the American Coco Vandeweghe with a score of 6-1, 6-1. In the second round he defeated the Spanish María José Martínez Sánchez for 6–2, 6–4. In the next round he had the best on the Russian Ekaterina Makarova with the score of 6-4, 6-0. In the eighth finals he beat Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková for 6-0, 6-0. In the quarters Ana Ivanović sold for 6-1, 6-3. In the semifinals he beat Sara Errani for 6-1, 6-2 and in the final Belarusian Viktoryja Azaranka 6–2, 2–6, 7–5.

Qualifications allocate sixteen places for each of the two unique tournaments and take place between 21 and 24 August 2012.
