Ukrtelecom
================Ukrtelecom is a Ukrainian private telecommunications company and the country's largest fixed-line operator. The headquarters is located in Kiev.
History
The company has its roots in the telephone network of the Ministry of Communications of the Ukrainian SSR. The first telephone in Kiev was installed in 1886 in the post office on Khreshchatyk. In 1931, the city had 6,300 rooms and 20 switchboards. After World War II, the length of the telephone networks of the Ukrainian SSR increased several times.
Owners and Management
Ukrtelecom is included in the list of privatized enterprises in 2007. However, privatization was postponed until 2011. Until then, the state was the largest shareholder. On March 11, 2011, a purchase and sale agreement was signed, and 92.86% of the shares were transferred to the Ukrainian company ESU.
Activity
As one of the largest telecom companies in Ukraine, Ukrtelecom offers its clients across the country a wide range of modern telecommunications services, including phone connections, access to the Internet, and interactive TV. The company is focused on developing a fast optical network, replacing copper cables with optics where possible. By the beginning of 2021, the Ukrtelecom Internet Access Network covered 3322 populations, over 2000 territorial communities, medical and educational institutions connected to an optical online machine operator network.
Structure
As of April 2021, Ukrtelecom is a Joint Stock Company. Prior to this, it was known as Open Joint Stock Company "Ukrtelecom" (until 2011) and Public Joint Stock Company "Ukrtelecom" (from 2011 until 2021).
Note: The name "Ukrototech" mentioned in Source 2 appears to be a typographical error or a misspelling, as it does not match any known information about Ukrtelecom. Therefore, I have used the correct name "Ukrtelecom" throughout the article.
