Public Joint Stock Company Scientific and Production Corporation United Wagon Company (PJSC NPC UWC) is a Russian manufacturer of freight railway cars. PJSC NPC UWC is included by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in the list of system-forming organizations.

PJSC "NPK UWC" manages a railway holding, which includes JSC "Tikhvin Carriage Plant", JSC "TikhvinChemMash", JSC "TikhvinSpetsMash" and LLC "SPC "Pruzhina", transport company UNICON 1520, leasing companies under the brand RAIL1520 and the car repair enterprise of JSC "TZ "Titran-Express". For the research work of the holding is responsible LLC "All-Union Research Center of Transport Technologies".

The headquarters of the holding is located in Moscow.

History

United Wagon Company (UWC) was established to manage the activities of Tikhvin Carriage Plant (TVSZ) and the leasing company RAIL1520 (RAIL1520) in May 2012.

The official launch of the Tikhvin Car Building Plant took place in January 2012. In June 2013, TVSZ received the “Development Award” of Vnesheconombank in the nomination “Best Project in Industry”. In July 2014, the 10,000th freight car was produced at TVSZ since the start of the enterprise.

The freight car leasing company RAIL1520 was founded in early 2011. In January 2012, RAIl1520 formed a joint venture for leasing wagons with the Japanese Mitsui - MRC1520. RAIL1520 is among the Top 5 largest leasing companies in Russia.

In September 2013, United Wagon Company and Wabtec Corporation signed a joint venture agreement. A few months earlier, a similar agreement was signed with the American company Amsted Rail.

In March 2014, UWC and American Timken announced the launch in 2015 of a joint venture to produce cassette bearings for freight cars.

In April 2014, United Wagon Company announced the creation of its own design bureau - VNICT.

In June 2014, UWC acquired from RUSNANO and Izhevsk Machine Plant 100% of the shares of SPC "Pruzhina" (Izhevsk, Udmurtia), producing springs with increased resource for railway transport.

In the same month, UWC announced the creation of the transport company Vostok1520, specializing in heavy rail transport. In November 2016, United Wagon Company sold a 100% stake in Vostok 1520 to the First Heavyweight Company.

In December 2014, the fleet of leasing company RAIL1520 reached 20,000 freight cars.

In 2015, UWC and global supplier of high-tech products for railways Wabtec (USA) signed a contract to supply large wagon casting to the US market.

In December 2015, UWC launched a transport engineering enterprise for the production of new generation tank cars - TikhvinChemMash CJSC (THM). On the basis of production organized production of more than 20
