United Nations Security Council Resolution 367
Adoption
Resolution 367 of the United Nations Security Council was adopted on 12 March 1975.
Background
After receiving a complaint from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus, the Council again called upon all States to respect the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-alignment of the Republic of Cyprus.
Key Provisions
The resolution noted its regret at the unilateral declaration of an independent "United Turkish State", despite not wishing to prejudge the final political settlement of the issue. The Council continued to call for the immediate and effective implementation of General Assembly Resolution 3212, requesting the Secretary-General to undertake a new mission to convene the parties and invite them to cooperate.
Implementation
The Council called upon all interested parties to refrain from any action that would jeopardize negotiations and requested the Secretary-General to keep him informed of the implementation of resolutions. The resolution was adopted without voting.
