Background
Resolution 414 of the United Nations Security Council was adopted on 15 September 1977, after hearing from the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus.
Content
The resolution expressed concern at recent developments in the country, particularly in the Famagusta area. It noted the urgency of progress on a peace settlement and reaffirmed the importance of implementing previous resolutions, including General Assembly resolution 2312 (1974) and Security Council resolutions 365 (1974) and 367 (1975).
Action
The Council requested the Secretary-General to continue monitoring the situation.
Adoption
The resolution was adopted without voting.
