Universal Mexican

Mexican Universal is a national beauty contest in Mexico. Each contestant represents its state of origin or residence. The current Universal Mexican is Melissa Flores of the state of Michoacán, who becomes the first Michoacana to represent Mexico in Miss Universe.

Mexican Universal is a very popular and closely followed contest throughout the country. Until 2017 Lupita Jones was co-owned with Televisa and formed Promotional SA of CV and founded the "Organization Our Beauty Mexico," the Director was Lupita Jones. At the end of 2017, as he left Televisa, Lupita Jones created and founded his own company "Casa LAMAT SA de CV" (The Institute by Lupita Jones), which together with Azteca Novelas SAPI de CV are responsible for organizing the Mexican Universal competition where the country's representatives are elected for international competitions: Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Charm International, Queen Hispanic-American and Our Latin American Universal. From 2018 the competition is televised by the Azteca One channel. In 2020, the organization changed television. The same organization maintains, trade and agenda the activities and needs of the holders of the titles, being its main image the Universal Mexican in functions.

The competition was broadcast and produced live and live for Mexico, the United States and some Central America countries by the Mexican television network TV Azteca until 2019.

It is currently broadcast live and live for Mexico and the world through the organization's official channel on YouTube.
