Universal Savings Bank is a Russian commercial bank that existed from 2002 to 2008.

Full name: LLC "Commercial Bank "Universal Bank of Savings".

History

As of April 1, 2003, Universal Savings Bank had net assets of 32.5 million rubles and capital of 29.4 million rubles.

In September 2005, it was noted that the Universal Savings Bank has an authorized capital of 29 million rubles, that it does not have a license to work with private deposits and is not included in the deposit insurance system.

As of April 1, 2008 (before closing), the assets of the Universal Savings Bank amounted to 1.46 billion rubles.

Owners
According to the USRUL, one of the founders of the bank in 2002 with a share of 20% was Traviata LLC, which half belonged to its general director Gennady Plaksin. However, in July 2008, it was noted that Traviata LLC owns only 3.1% of the Universal Savings Bank. Plaksin, according to the USRUL, also owns the company Instar, which in 2007 sued 7.6 billion rubles. from Riland LLC.

The other co-founders of the Universal Savings Bank are 10 LLC with approximately equal shares. Andrei Chuverin, Sergey Popovkin and Yuri Markov, through the chain of LLCs, participated in the creation of the bank and until 2008 controlled minority shares there.

In 2004, Dmitry Klyuev became the main (or even the only) owner of the bank. In 2005, during interrogations in the case of Mikhailovsky GOK, he admitted:

This bank actually belonged to me and was bought by me in October 2004 from the former owners by re-registrating the shares of the founders of the bank into companies controlled by me, whose nominal directors and founders were friends of Sergey Orlov, whom I have known for several years. The board of directors of the bank was also a nominal body and consisted of the same friends of Orlov.

Klyuev also claimed that he sold the bank even before the operations with reimbursement of taxes began to his friend Semyon Korobeinikov. In 2008, Semyon Korobeinikov died after falling from the window of an unfinished house.
