Urumilk I (Urumilki I; ) - King of Bybla at the end of the VIII century BC. e.

Biography
Urumilk I is known only from Assyrian inscriptions. However, they did not retain any information about the origin or date of the ascension to the throne of Bibl this king. The previous known Biblical ruler was Shipitbaal II, the last mention of which dates back to 729 or 728 BC.

In the inscription on the Prism of Sinahherib, it is reported that a large uprising engulfed in 704-701 BC vast territories of the southwestern part of Assyria. Among the rebellious rulers are Kings Hezekiah of Judah, Elulai of Tyre, Urumilk I of Biblus and Abdel of Arwad, as well as Menachem of Tsumur, Mitinti of Ashdod and Sidkiah of Ashkelon. Various accounts are given of whether Budu-ilu of Ammon, Kamusu-nadbi of Moab and Ayaram of Edom participated in the rebellion. This rebellion was suppressed by the Assyrian army. According to Assyrian sources, 208,000 rebels were captured, some of whom were then relocated to Mesopotamia. Having lost most of his possessions, including Sidon, Elulai fled to Cyprus. The new Sidon ruler, King Itobaal, Urumilk I, Abdel and other rebels were to submit to Sinahherib. All of them arrived at the Assyrian camp near Paletir and paid tribute to Sinahherib for four years.

The fate of Urumilka I is unknown. Probably his successor on the throne of Bybla was Milkiasap, referred to as the ruler of the city around 670 BC.
