The eleventh edition of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu took place at the Turku Logomo on 26 February 2022 and selected the Finnish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin.

The winners were The Rasmus with Jezebel.

Organization
The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) confirmed Finland's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on 24 May 2021, also announcing the organization of the 11th edition of Uuden Musikin Kilpailu (UMK) to select its representative. From 1 September 2021 the broadcaster gave the opportunity to the aspiring participants to send their songs by 6 September, with the condition that the participating artists and that at least one of the composers were permanent citizens or residents in Finland.

The festival took place in a single evening of 7 participants where the combined vote of the televote and the international jury, with a weight of 75% and 25% respectively on the result, decreed the winner.

Jury
The international jury for UMK 2022 was composed of:

– Elena Tsagkrinou (Professor of Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021)
– Jendrik (German representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2021)
– Marta Cagnola
– Keiino (Representatives of Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019)
– Albert Černý (Representative of the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 as part of Lake Malawi)
– Bojana Stamenov (Representative of Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015)
– Rosa López (Representative of Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002)

Participants
The seven participants were chosen among the 312 proposals, and were revealed on 12 January 2022. The songs will be published in digital cyclically from 13 to 21 January 2022.

Final
The final was held on 26 February 2022 at the Logomo of Turku and was presented by Paula Vesala and Mmiisas. The exit order was announced on 16 February 2022.

The evening was opened by the Blind Channel, winners of the previous edition, while the JVG performed during the televote band.

Finnish have followed at least one part of the live event, with an average of one million spectators, making it the most followed edition of UMK. Votes were sent, of which with the official app and via SMS or call.
