Overview
VAK-308 was a tactical air supply squadron of the United States Navy. The squadron was established on 2 May 1970 as a tactical squadron of electronic war VAQ-308, redesignated as VAK-308 on 1 October 1979 and disestablished on 30 September 1988.
Operational History
The squadron was established as part of a reorganization aimed at increasing the readiness to combat the Naval Air Reserve Force. It had to provide electronic warfare, flight supply, and delivery service onboard aircraft carriers of the Atlantic and Pacific fleets and other units worldwide. The VAK-308 operated in numerous operations, including those during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, the Yom Kippur War, and the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. During its operations, it was embarked on many different aircraft carriers.

The squadron was assigned to NAS Alameda.
Aircraft Assignment
The squadron operated the KA-3B Skywarrior.
