Valentina Savva

Biography

Valentina Savva (born May 17, 2005) is a Cypriot athlete who specializes in hammer throwing.

Sports Career

Savva first gained international experience in 2021, when she finished ninth at the U20 European Championships in Tallinn with a throw of 58.38 meters. She then reached fifth place at the U20 World Championships in Nairobi with 62.18 meters. The following year, she won the gold medal at the U18 European Championships in Jerusalem with 70.18 meters using the lighter 3 kg hammer.

In 2022, Savva took fourth place at the U20 World Championships in Cali with 61.17 meters. She then went on to win the silver medal behind her compatriot Emilia Kolokotroni at the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) in Marsa with 62.97 meters.

In July 2023, Savva won a gold medal at the European Athletics Championship Sub-20, specifically in the hammer throw event. She also took sixth place at the 2nd League of the European Team Championship at the European Games in Chorzów with 65.47 meters.
