Variseia (also known as Şirinköy or Scos)
Variseia, also referred to as Şirinköy or Scos, is an abandoned village located within the Buffer Zone near Gailini, Cyprus.
History and Geography
The village is situated in the province of Lefke, which is part of the Republic of Northern Cyprus. Following the Cyprus War in 1974, the village was left uninhabited. It is located on the Green Line, a buffer zone that separates the internationally recognized Republic of Cyprus from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Administrative Status
Variseia is part of the municipality of Lefke and falls under the Nicosia District. Prior to its abandonment, it likely had a village council, similar to other villages in the region.
