Early Life and Career
Varnavas Christofi was born on 23 April 1943.
Club Career
Christofi began his career at home in 1965-1966, with which he obtained third place in A' Katīgoria, as well as reaching the final of Kypello Kyprou 1965-1966. In 1968, he moved to America to play with the Vancouver Royals, engaged in the first edition of the North American Soccer League (NASL). With the Royals, he won fourth place in the Pacific Division.
After finishing his American experience, Christofi returned home to play in the Greek championship. He played for several clubs, including Nea Salamis Famagusta FC and Olympiakos Nicosia, with whom he achieved various results:
* Alpha Ethniki 1969-1970: relegated back to the Cypriot Championship
* A' Katīgoria 1970-1971: won the championship, earning a spot in the Greek championship
* Alpha Ethniki 1971-1972: relegated back to the Cypriot Championship again
* Cup of Champions 1971-1972: eliminated at the sixteenths
International Career and Later Life
Christofi also played for the Cyprus national team. He is a retired Cypriot football goalkeeper.
