Vasile Ion

Vasile Ion () was a former Romanian senator in the legislations of 1999-2000 and after 2004, elected in Buzău County on the party lists named successively during that period FSN, FDSN, PDSR and PSD. He was the leader of the Buzău county organization until May 2010, when he resigned from the party, after which he switched to PC and then UNPR. In his parliamentary work, Senator Vasile Ion was a member of the following parliamentary groups of friendship:

in the 1997-2000 legislature: the Committee on Human Rights, Cults and Minorities;
in the legislative term 2000-2004: the Committee on Public Health;
in the legislative term 2004-2008: the Committee on Public Health.
Vasile Ion is the father of journalist Marie Jeanne Ion.
