Early Life and Education
Vasiliki Anastasiadou (also known as Vassiliki Anastasiadou) is a Greek Cypriot politician. She was born on 3 May 1958 in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Anastasiadou obtained a law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Subsequently, she earned a master's degree (LLM) in European law from the University of Leicester.
Career
Initially, Anastasiadou worked as a lawyer. In 1983, she was appointed Secretary of Parliamentary Committees to the House of Representatives Parliamentary Committee Service. She rose through the ranks and held various positions within the service, including Director of the Parliament's Office of European Affairs (2002), Director of the Parliamentary Committees Service (2007), and General Director of the House of Representatives (2013).
Ministerial Career
Anastasiadou served as the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works from 1 March 2018 to 3 December 2019 in the second cabinet of Nicos Anastasiades. This position was part of a reshuffling of the cabinet.
Personal Life
Anastasiadou is married to Stelios Anastasiadis and has two children, a daughter and a son.
Participation in Cultural Events
In her youth, Anastasiadou participated in cultural events, including representing Cyprus at the Edmonton Song Festival as part of the Commonwealth Games in 1977. She also sang as an amateur singer and participated in the 1978 Commonwealth Games (Commonweal) under a different name.
