Vasilios Papafotis

Vasilios Papafotis (Greek: Βασίλειος Παπαφώτης) is a Cypriot footballer, a midfielder who plays for APOEL.

Career

Papafotis began his professional career in the club APOEL. He signed his first professional contract with his home club on 3 December 2013. On 19 December 2013, he played 60 minutes in a match for the country's cup against Digenis Oroklis. Three days later, on 22 December 2013, he made his debut in the championship of Cyprus as a substitute in the match with Enosis.

In the 2017/18 season, Papafotis was loaned to Doxa, for which he played 30 matches and scored 4 goals. After the end of the lease, he signed a full contract with Doxa.

National Team Career

Papafotis was first called up to the Cyprus national team in August 2017 for the qualifying tournament of the 2018 World Cup against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Estonia, but he did not come out on the field. He made his debut for the national team on March 23, 2018, in a friendly match with Montenegro, coming on as a substitute in the 85th minute instead of Pieros Sotiriou.
