Player career
Starts in Bosnia and Germany
Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina before the break-up of Yugoslavia, Vedran Pelic plays with young people at FK Turbina Jablanica, the club of his hometown, and then at Velež Mostar, the big club of the region. He
left the country when the war broke out to join Germany and completed its formation at the Eintracht Frankfurt. In 1995, he joined TuS Ahlen, with whom he was champion of Oberliga Westfalen, the fourth level of German football at the time, at the end of the season. He was transferred by the SV Meppen, which then moved into 2. Bundesliga, where he played for two years. When the club was relegated in 1998, he left Germany and returned to Velež Mostar for a year.
Recognition in Belgium
At the end of April 1999, Vedran Pelic went abroad and joined the KVC Westerlo, in the first Belgian division. He played his first game in Belgium against KSK Beveren. Starting in the following season, he won a title in the team and scored fifteen goals in all competitions. He retained the confidence of his coach Jan Ceulemans in 2000-2001 and played almost every match of the season, including the Belgian Cup final that the club won for the first time in its history. Qualified for the next edition of the UEFA Cup, Westerlo was eliminated in the first round by the Hertha Berlin. Vedran Pelic plays both games without achieving a goal.
End of career in lower divisions
A year and a half remains in Belgium and then joins the Anorthosis Famagusta in the Cyprus championship in January 2003. After six months, he returned to Belgium and signed at Patro Eisden Maasmechelen in Division 2. After a year, he left for Beringen Heusden Zolder, who wanted to get back to the elite. Unfortunately, the club went bankrupt during the season, leaving the players without a contract. Vedran Pelic joined the Verbroedering Geel in April 2006, where he finished the season in the reserve team. He helped the team climb back to Division 2 via the final round the following season and then left the club.
He left for Germany, where he joined the Bonner SC, in fourth division. The German adventure is short-lived and its contract is terminated after less than six months. He remained for several months without playing and finally joined KFC Racing Mol-Wezel in Division 3 in July 2008. After a year, he left the club and signed a club at the Everbeur Sport Averbode
