"Velcom (meat industry)"

"Velkom" is a Russian meat industry company that produces meat products under the same brand name at its own meat processing plant in the village of Pavlovskaya Sloboda, Istra district of the Moscow region.

It was founded by spouses Raisa and Oleg Demin in 1992, who opened a small sausage shop in Orekhov-Borisov on a loan of 10 million rubles, received in Guta Bank on the security of an apartment and a passenger car. By 1996, the workshop reached the limit of output - 15 tons of finished products per day.

The plant in Pavlovskaya Sloboda was built in 2004 as an enterprise with the process from slaughter to packaging of finished products. 5 hectares of land for the construction of the meat processing plant were purchased for $ 2 million of personal funds of the Demins, $ 50 million for the construction and equipment allocated by the Swiss investment company Parintek.

From 2008 to 2012, the company's turnover increased from 4.5 billion rubles to 6.7 billion rubles. Recognition of the Velkom trademark in 2012 was ranked third among Russian brands of meat producers (after Mikoyan and Ostankino brands).

In 2012, the company created its own chain of fast food cafes, counting on it as an additional stable distribution channel for products.

In April 2022, the company acquired the Russian division of the Finnish dairy concern Valio, including the cheese factory in Ershov and the rights to the Viola brand; the transaction amount was not disclosed, the division’s revenue for 2020 was 85 million euros (about 5% of the group’s turnover). The old contract for the production of Valio products at the Galaktika dairy plant near Gatchina has been preserved. In October, the name of the legal entity of the former division of the Finnish company was changed to Viola LLC.

As of 2013, 90% of the company was owned by the Swiss firm Parintek, the remaining 10% by the Demin family. According to the data of mid-2022, the main legal entity of LLC "Myasokombinat Pavlovskaya Sloboda" is 91% owned by the Cypriot company "Frinal Finance Limited", 9% by Raisa Demina; revenue of the main legal entity for 2021 is 7.4 billion rubles. Chairman of the Board of Directors - Raisa Demin, General Director - Denis Demin (son of Raisa and Oleg Deminykh).
