History
### Launch
Radio Vesti is a Ukrainian radio station that began operations on March 18, 2014. The project was initiated by former editors-in-chief of the Russian radio station "Kommersant FM", Dmitry Solopov and Alexei Vorobyov, who were approached by Igor Guzhva, the owner of Multimedia Invest Group, to launch a new news radio station in Ukraine.
### Creation History
The idea for Radio Vesti was conceived in early July 2013, when it became known that Solopov and Vorobyov would be launching a new information station in Ukraine. They were joined by Egor Altman, the chairman of the board of directors of the advertising syndicate "Hidalgo", who handled marketing and commercial aspects of the project.
### Initial Operations
Initially, Radio Vesti started out as an exclusively Russian-language radio station. However, over time, the percentage of Ukrainian content increased significantly. By 2016, about 20% of the speech was in Ukrainian, while around 80% was in Russian. As of November 1, 2016, Ukrainian content reached up to 80%.
### Frequency and Location
Radio Vesti operated on several frequencies across Ukraine:
* March 18, 2014 - Kiev at 104.6 MHz
* Until March 4, 2017 - Kharkiv at 100.5 MHz
* Until February 24, 2017 - Dnipro at 107.7 MHz
### Closure
Radio Vesti ceased operations on FM frequencies on October 24, 2018.
Language and Content
Although initially an exclusively Russian-language radio station, Radio Vesti gradually increased its Ukrainian content over time. By the end of 2016, around 50% of the speech was in Ukrainian, with some days reaching up to 80% or more Ukrainian content.
