Vincent Janssen (born February 1, 1979 in Heesch) is a Dutch international footballer who plays as an attacker at the Royal Antwerp FC.

Biography

Club career

Almere City (2013-2015)
After being trained at the Feyenoord Rotterdam, Vincent Janssen made his professional debut in 2013 with the Almere City club. In two seasons, he played 74 games and scored 32 goals for this club.

AZ Alkmaar (2015-2016)
In , Janssen signed with AZ Alkmaar for three seasons. From his first match with this club, on the , he scored a goal against the team of Istanbul Başakşehir, in the third qualifying round for the 2015-2016 Europa League.

During the 2015-2016 season, Janssen signed a very nice season with the AZ Alkmaar by becoming the championship's best scorer at the end of the season with 27 achievements.

Tottenham Hotspur (2016-2019)
Janssen signed a four-year contract in favour of the English club Tottenham Hotspur for an amount of 17 million euros.

Back at the Spurs in the summer of 2018, Janssen does not receive a number. He spent the majority of the 2018-19 season covering with a foot injury and returned to the field with the first team in . The attacker played three championship matches but none of the Champions Leagues as Tottenham reached the final for the first time in his history, lost to Liverpool.

CF Monterrey
In , Janssen signs at CF Monterrey, Mexican club and first experience outside Europe of the player. The amount of the transfer is not revealed but would amount to around €7 million for a five-year contract.

Janssen made his debut by replacing Rogelio Funes Mori in a 2-0 win over Toluca in Apertura, the opening tournament of the Mexican championship. The next day, he scored his first goal, reducing the score to 2-1 against Santos Laguna. Uneffective in the championship, Janssen stood out in the Cup where he scored a double against the Universidad de Guadalajara and then a triple at the expense of the Cafetaleros de Chiapas. He scored six goals in seven matches in this competition while Monterrey reached the semifinals. Janssen was instrumental in the Apertura playoffs by scoring three goals in six games. The club was crowned champion after winning in two rounds against the Club América.

Janssen started the 2020-21 season by competing against Santos Laguna (2-2). He scored his first goal in a 1-3 hit at the Club América in which he was also expelled after receiving a second yellow card. However, the Disciplinary Commission removed a yellow card, thereby cancelling his expulsion. For more than two months, Janssen scored on penalty during the return match of the Copa MX final against Club Tijuana.
