Anna Margaretha Marina Astrid “Vivianne” Miedema (* 15). July 1996 in Hoogeveen, Netherlands is a Dutch footballer. She has played for the national team since 2013 and for Arsenal Women FC since 2017. Since 2019 she is the record scorer of the Netherlands.
Career
Clubs
Miedema started playing football at the five-year-old Hoogeveense Zaterdag Voetbal Vereniging (HZVV), who was based in her birth and residence, and after eight years moved to the city rival VV de Weide. In 2011, she signed the first division sc Heerenveen, with which she occupied the last place in the league in her premiere season. At the time of her debut for Heerenveen, she was the youngest player to be used in the Eredivisie. In the first season of the BeNe League, which has been played since 2012/13, she was best scorer of the BeNe League B with 22 goals in 14 games. The striker was even more successful in the 2013/14 season: With 39 goals she became queen scorer. The runner-up in this standings, Ellen Jansen, had scored 24 goals in 26 games.
For the 2014/15 season she signed the Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich and provided her with a three-year contract. Her first two league goals for FC Bayern Munich she scored on 5. With Arsenal, she reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2019/20, where they lost 1-2 against Paris Saint-Germain. With 10 goals she was the best scorer of the final round. The 2019/20 season, which ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ended Arsenal in third place, missing participation in the UEFA Women’s Champions League 2020/21.
