Vladimir Gutsaev

Vladimir Gavrilovich Gutsaev (born December 21, 1952) is a former Soviet and Georgian football player and coach of Ossetian origin.

Career as a Football Player

Gutsaev debuted at FC Dinamo Tbilisi in 1971, where he played until 1986. He primarily played as a striker.

Early Life and Education

Gutsaev was born in Tbilisi (according to other sources, the village of Kedigora, Akhalgori district), Georgian SSR, USSR. He started playing football at a young age, participating in yard games. In 1966, he joined his district team for the republican tournament and became the champion of the republic, being recognized as the best striker.

Career Achievements

* Master of Sports of the USSR of international class since 1976.
* Honored Master of Sports of the USSR since 1981.

Coaching Career

After retiring from playing football, Gutsaev transitioned to coaching. He was a member of the Parliament of Georgia between 2004 and 2008 as part of the ruling party of the United National Movement.
