Vogüé

Vogüé is a commune in the Ardèche department in south-eastern France. Its inhabitants are called the Vogueans.

Geography

Location
Vogüé is a tourist village located on the edge of the Ardèche, within the community of the Gorges de l'Ardèche.

The village is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France.

Geology and relief
Limestone ardèche: the parades of the middle valley of the Ardèche (Voguë, Balazuc, Ruoms).
The plateau des Gras.

The municipality is classified as a seismic zone with moderate hazard.

Climate
According to the Köppen-Geiger classification, the climate of the municipality is Cfa type.

Hydrography and groundwater
Its castle and terraced gardens overlook the river Ardèche.

brooks Auzon, Ribeyrass, Fontenouille, Chamaroux.

The flood of the river was the most devastating of all.

Public transport
Vogüé was, until 1982, an important railway node at the crossing of the PLM line and then SNCF from Teil to Lalevade-d'Ardèche and Robiac-Rochessadoule (see Ardèchoise railway star). A new neighbourhood had even been built around the railway station (Vogüé-Gare). The old station, still visible, has become an intercommunal school. The tourist train "Picasso" was stopped in 2012.

Green lane Via Ardèche
The great Viaduct of Vogüé was built in 1877. Now the green road Via Ardèche is built on this viaduct and on the old railway line, up to Grospierres (extension to Gagnières in progress).

Urbanism

Typology
Vogüé is a rural municipality. It is in fact one of the communes with little or very little density, in the sense of the communal density grid of INSEE.

The municipality is also part of the attraction area of Aubenas, of which it is a municipality of the crown. This area, which includes , is categorized in areas from to less than .

Land use
Land use in the municipality, as reflected in the European database of biophysical land use Corine Land Cover (CLC), is marked by the importance of forests and semi-natural habitats (62.3% in 2018), a proportion that is significantly equivalent to that of 1990 (63.1%). The detailed breakdown in 2018 is as follows:
habitats with shrub and/or grassy vegetation (40.9%), forests (21.4%), permanent crops (19.5%), heterogeneous agricultural areas (10.6%), urbanized areas (7.6%).
