Early Life and Education
Wafaa El-Kilani was born on September 10, 1972, in Cairo to a Muslim family. She is the middle sister of two sisters, Fadia and Samaa, who studied engineering and economics respectively. Her father, an Egyptian businessman who graduated from Al-Azhar University's Arabic Department, encouraged her to pursue a career in journalism. El-Kilani moved between several Arab countries during her childhood due to her father's work.
She studied political science at Benghazi University in Libya and later completed her higher studies in psychology.
Career
El-Kilani began working with the Arab Radio and Television Network in 1997, before moving to Rotana in 2005. She gained widespread recognition for her work on "Without censorship" on LBC in 2009. In 2012, she joined MBC1, where she hosted the popular program "Nourt", interviewing dozens of celebrities from the Arab world's sports, art, and politics.
Personal Life
El-Kilani married Tony Mikhael, a Lebanese television personality, on August 25, 2008. However, they divorced in 2016. In May 2017, she married Syrian actor Taim Hasan.
Shows and Awards
El-Kilani has presented numerous TV interview shows for various Arabic media channels, becoming one of the most popular Arab presenters. She has interviewed notable celebrities such as Adel Emam and Kazem al Saher in her shows.
