Warapo

The group "Warapo" was founded on April 1, 1998 at the Central University of Las Villas, Cuba. In the same year he received the award for "Best Amateur Grouping" at the XIV National Festival of University Artists. It belonged to the catalogue of the "Musicuba" Artistic Representations Company of the EGREM, a label under which it recorded its first "Bad Life" CD in 2004. His second record production, the "I have nothing" CDVD, was released in 2007, with the musical production by Juan A. Leyva, a renowned musician and international producer.

The "Warapo" music could be catalogued as a Latin fusion with genres influences such as Chachacha, Pop, Guaracha, Son, Rock, Cumbia, Ballenato and Regueton, on a fundamentally Cuban rhythmic basis.
The image that the group projects is young, fresh, unangry and versatile. Dance, music and performing effects are an unforgettable performance.

Currently in Panama the group continues to develop its creative work focused on the Latin and international market.

Awards and awards:

"Best Opera Prima" for the audiovisual "Pain and Pena" at the Cuban Video Clip Festival (2004). -

1st Place on the List of Exits on Cuban radio (year 2005). -

CDVD "I have nothing" nominated in 4 categories of the event "Cubadisco" 2008. These were: Fusion, Pop Rock, Graphic Design and Multimedia DVD, being awarded in this latter category. International experience: -

He participated in the Latin American Continent at the "International Folkloric Festival" at the Kapodistria University in Athens, Greece (July 1999 edition). -

Promotional tours to Cyprus in October 2001 and March 2002, the latter with presentations in the "Carnivals of Limassol," relevant cultural event of this country. -

He participated in the XII Maya World Festival, in the city of Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico (year 2006). -

Spins for the Asian Continent: Vietnam, Singapore, China, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia (year 2008 - 2012).
