### Results
The competition was attended by 24 athletes from 22 countries. The current Olympic champion in this discipline was Polish weightlifter Adrian Zielinski. However, the winner of the competition with a new world record was the Iranian athlete Kiyanush Rostami.
During the competition, Cyprus weightlifter Antonis Martasidis was disqualified and sent home due to a positive doping test on July 25, 2016. Additionally, Romanian Gabriel Sinkrayan was initially awarded a bronze medal but was later deprived of it after his doping test showed high levels of testosterone. Following Sinkrayan's disqualification, the bronze medal was officially transferred to Kazakhstani Denis Ulanov.
