Early Life and Career
Wilfried Delbroek was born on May 1, 1979. He began his football career at a young age, joining Opoeteren SSD at the age of eight.
Club Career
Delbroek's early club career involved playing for various teams in lower divisions. At the age of 15, he joined Patro Eisden's youth teams and remained there until his 19th birthday. In 1991, he signed his first contract with Overpelt Fabriek, a team competing in Division 3 at the time.
Delbroek made his official debut against Hoogstraten while playing for Overpelt Fabriek. He played two seasons without being an undisputed starter but managed to win the first edition of the final round of the third division with the team at the end of the 1993-1994 season, earning promotion to Division 2.
Career with KRC Genk
Delbroek's most notable period was spent playing for KRC Genk. He made significant contributions to the team, helping them win two Belgian titles and twice the Cup during his tenure. Delbroek also played in four different European competitions over four consecutive seasons between 1997 and 2001.
International Career
Delbroek earned five caps as a Belgian international player, making his debut on February 3, 1999, against Cyprus (1-0).
