The Wind Ambition was a residential ship of the company C-Bed. The ship was originally built as a ferry Prinsessan Birgitta and commissioned in 1974.

History

Prinsessan Birgitta (1974–1982)

The Prinsessan Birgitta was built at Wärtsilä Turku-Werft and was built on 10. Delivered May 1974. From 16 May 1974 the ship sailed between Gothenburg and Travemünde, in the summer additionally between Travemünde and Rønne, in the winter additionally between Travemünde and Copenhagen. In 1977 the ship was sold to Rederi Ab Göteborg-Frederikshavn Linjen and used between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn. In February 1981 Stena Line took over this operation. The ship operated the route until 25 August. From 14 September 1981 it operated the route Kiel – Gothenburg.

Stena Scandinavica (1982–1987)

The following year, on 10. In May 1982, the ship was renamed Stena Scandinavica. The ship operated until 5. April 1987 between Kiel and Gothenburg and then again between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn.

In June 1987, the ship was chartered by Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation S.A. (Cotunav) and used between Genoa and Tunis.

Scandinavica (1987–1989)
On October 28, 1987, Stena Scandinavica was renamed Scandinavica. In December 1987, it was taken off the road and put on. From 7 June 1988 to 16 September 1988, Sealink British Ferries used the ship on the route Dover - Calais and Dover - Zeebrugge. From October 1988, the ship was laid in Dunkerque. On November 8, the ship was sold to Stena Shipping Line, Nassau, Bahamas, and used on the route Frederikshavn – Gothenburg – Moss.

Tarek L (1989)
In May 1989, the vessel was transferred to Scandinavica Ltd, Nassau, Bahamas and renamed Tarek L. From May to November 1989, Cotunav used the Tarek L between Tunis, Genoa and Marseille.

Scandinavia (1989–1990)
On 15 November 1989, Norway Line bought the ship and renamed it Scandinavia. The ship was converted in Kristiansand.

Venus (1990–1994)
In March 1990, the ship was renamed Venus, the home port was Bergen. On 29 March the ship operated twice a week for Norway Line the route Bergen - Stavanger - Newcastle and once a week the route Bergen - Stavanger - Amsterdam, which was discontinued in 1991. On January 1, 1993, the ship was registered for the Color Line.

King of Scandinavia (1994–2002)
On August 11, 1994, DFDS bought the ship. It still ran until 1. September 1994 for Norway Line on the previous route. DFDS took over the ship on the same day and renamed it King of Scandinavia. From 2 April 1995, the ship operated the route Esbjerg – Harwich. From 10 April 1995 the ship sailed the route Esbjerg – Newcastle – Hamburg. The route was changed to IJmuiden – Newcastle – Hamburg on 29 March 1996. From 10 July 1997 to 10 September 1997 Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation SA chartered from Tunes
