Wolfgang Moser (born 27). May 1948 in Bad Hersfeld is a retired German diplomat and most recently Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia from 2010 to 2013.
Live life
After studying sinology, sociology and economic geography at the Universities of Hamburg and Singapore, he received his doctorate in 1977 at the University of Hamburg.
After joining the Foreign Service in 1978, he worked at the Embassy in the People’s Republic of China (Second Secretary) and at the Federal Foreign Office in Bonn (Political Department). From 1986 to 1989, Moser served as Embassy Councillor and Chargé d'affaires at the Embassy in Cyprus and then in the same capacity at the Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire until 1992. From 1992 to 1994 Moser was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Lesotho. After serving as Head of Unit at the Federal Foreign Office, he became Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Houston in 1997.
Subsequently, he was Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Marseille from 2000 to 2003 and then head of a unit at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin from 2003 to July 2006. Ambassador to Madagascar from 2006 to 2010 and most recently Ambassador to Cambodia before his retirement from 2010 to 2013.
