The first women's football category of Cyprus 2015-16 was the 39th edition of the first category of football of Cyprus under the auspices of the Cyprus Football Federation. Apollo won the championship for the fourth time in his history.

Operating system
8 teams participated in the 2015–16 first-class championship. It was held in two phases. In the first phase, all teams competed between them twice, once inside and one away. After the completion of the 14 racers (I phase) the teams were divided into 2 groups, depending on their position, giving ranking matches (II phase). The results, points, sets and points of Phase I were transferred to the rankings.

Teams in seats 1–4 competed for winning the league and the positions leading to the European championships. The teams fought each other twice, once inside and once away. The champion was declared the team that gathered most points.

Teams in positions 5–8 competed between them twice, once inside and one away. The last team was ranked in the 2016–17 Second Division.

Score system
The racing scoring system was as follows:
In a 3–0 win and 3–1 set the winner received 3 points and the loser none.
In a 3–2 win the winner set received 2 points and the defeated 1 point.

Classification criteria
The teams were ranked based on the total number of points they won. In case of a tie in the total number of points won by two or more teams the ranking criteria were:
Higher ranked the team with the highest number of wins.
If the teams had the same number of wins, the highest ranked group with the largest fraction resulting from the division of the total winning sets with the total lost sets.
If the tie continued, higher ranked the team with the largest fraction resulting from dividing the total earned points with the total missed points.
If the tie continued, higher ranked the team with most wins among the tied racing teams.
If the tie continued, higher ranked the team with the largest fraction resulting from the division of the winning sets with the lost sets in between the tied teams matches.
If the tie continued, higher ranked the team with the largest fraction resulting from the division of winning points with lost points in the between the tied teams matches.
If the tie continued, a ranking match was held on a neutral stadium designated by the COPE.

Changes over the period 2014-15
The 2015–16 championship was attended by the second-class champion 2014–15, Olympiad Neapolis. Pafiakos did not participate who finished in the final place of the league First class 2014–15 and was demoted to the 2015–16 second-class championship.
