The World Cat Federation (WCF) is a world federation founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1988 and headquartered in Germany. WCF brings together over 540 clubs around the world and recognizes more than 60 cat breeds.

Missions
WCF's tasks are the monitoring and registration of breed cats belonging to member clubs, the training of feline judges, the creation and maintenance of breed standards, the organisation of feline exhibitions whose rules are specific to the federation and participation in the European Parliament in Strasbourg with regard to animal welfare legislation.
WCF brings together more than 540 clubs worldwide, the member feline associations are among the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Belarus, Switzerland, Chile, Colombia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Monaco, Moldova, Malta, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United States, South Africa. In France, an agreement between the Official Book of Feline Origins (LOOF) and the WCF was signed on and renewed in: it allows flexibility between the two federations, both for the recognition of races and for judgments in feline exhibition.
Recognized races
WCF is one of the most advanced federations in terms of race recognition. Indeed, it recognizes nearly 67 of them, some of which are still very little known as the Mekong bobtail or the kanaani; However, about ten races do not have a WCF standard but a standard at another federation such as the American wirehair or the long-haired burmilla. It ranks breeds by hair length and oriental type.

Feline exposure
The WCF delivers three different prizes: the (premior being reserved for castrated cats), the and the . Different classes exist depending on the age of the competitor (chaton, adult cat), the race recognized or not, the colour. A cat can also become a champion, European champion, international champion or great champion, depending on the number of points obtained in each category.
