Early Life and Career

Włodzimierz Mazur (*14 April 1954 in Opatów; † 1 December 1988) was a Polish football player.

Club Career

Mazur played with Zagłębie Sosnowiec from 1973 to 1983. During this time, he was twice the Polish Cup winner (1977 and 1978) and in 1977, he scored 17 goals, making him the scorer king of the Polish Ekstraklasa. In 1983, he moved to France to join Stade Rennes, where he played until 1985. Mazur briefly returned to Zagłębie Sosnowiec for the 1985/1986 season before retiring.

National Team

Mazur played 23 games with the Polish national team and scored 3 goals. His debut was on 31 October 1976, when he played a game against Cyprus in a World Cup qualifying match. Mazur's first international goal was scored against the same Cypriots a few months later.
