Yaroslavl Electromechanical Plant (YEMZ) is an enterprise in Yaroslavl that produces mobile high-voltage testing laboratories and other specialized laboratories on various chassis and protective equipment for workers engaged in repair and maintenance of energy systems and communications. History
Yaroslavl Electromechanical Plant was founded as "Selelectro" in 1945 to electrify agriculture. He was subordinated to the Main Directorate for the Electrification of Agriculture of the RSFSR. He occupied the outbuildings of one of the churches on the outskirts of the city. He was engaged in the repair of electrical equipment: electric motors, power transformers, generators and electric motors. Some products were awarded honorary certificates of VDNKh, and employees - gold and silver medals of VDNKh. At the plant, the production of substation equipment was mastered: disconnectors, fibro-bakelite dischargers RT-10; repair claws and belts; sharpeners; mobile electrical laboratories PEL-10.

In 1957 it was decided to carry out the reconstruction and expansion of the enterprise. A new site with an area of 2.7 hectares was allocated with the possibility of expanding in the future. By the late 1960s, a new factory was built. In the early 1970s, the production of various mobile electrical laboratories (mobile laboratories) was mastered: PVL-10-02 based on UAZ-452D; PCLS-10-02, ETL-35-02, ETL-10-02, mobile cable workshop KAM-1, linear machine LM-1. In the second half of the 1980s, the Yaroslavl Electromechanical Plant supplied electrical laboratories to Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Romania, Turkey, Mongolia.

In 1993, the plant was transformed into an open joint stock company. The parent company of the holding company "EMZ". Since the early 1990s, the company's main products have been mobile laboratories of high-voltage tests of the LVI series, mounted on various automobile chassis - from Ural-4320 all-terrain vehicles to PAZ-3205 buses, the largest number - on GAZ-3307, GAZ-3308, ZIL-5301, KAMAZ, there are developments on the GAZelle and UAZ-33036.

In 2003, the company embarked on the internationalization of its business. It was soon transformed into a multinational company with the head office of EMZ Holding Company located in the Republic of Cyprus. In 2006, in the free economic zone in Cyprus in the city of Larnaca, a plant of the company “Vitaldrive ltd.” was built, which began production of a new class of high-voltage laboratories of the HVT series.
