Yasemin Mori (also known as Jasmine Mori)

Yasemin Aygün Savgı, better known by her stage name Yasemin Mori or Jasmine Mori, is a Turkish alternative rock singer born on March 4, 1982. Her father, a military architect, and mother worked at Turkish Airlines, with the latter also being of Edirne origin.

Mori's original last name was Savgı, but she adopted her stage name during high school after meeting Jim Morrison in school years. The nickname "Moriyi" has since become an integral part of her identity. Growing up, Mori lived in various locations including Northern Cyprus, Diyarbakır, Ankara, and Edirne due to her father's military career.

Mori began her music career at a young age, contributing to the group Ablanin during secondary school. Her breakthrough came when she danced on stage at a Kings of Convenience concert in Istanbul on July 6, 2005. This event marked the beginning of her solo career, with her debut album "Hayvanlar" released by Irmak Plak on July 10, 2008.

Mori's subsequent albums include "Deli Bando," which was published in October 2012 after a three-year working period, and "Finnari Kakaraska," released in March 2015. Her music often features collaborations with notable artists such as Korhan Futacı and Kara Orkestra.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Mori has been open about her personal life. She entered into a relationship with Serhat Şensesli since 2017 and became a father to their son Milan in July of the same year. Throughout her career, Mori has showcased her versatility through various live performances and music releases.

Mori's work is characterized by its unique blend of alternative rock and Turkish influences. Her dedication to her craft has earned her a loyal fan base, with many of her songs featured at her concerts. Despite not initially intending to release some of these tracks on new albums, Mori has continued to share them with the public through various platforms.

Early Life and Education

Mori graduated from Bilkent University's Graphic Design section in 2004. During this time, she published some of her studies on social media platforms such as MySpace and Tumblr. This early exposure helped establish her online presence and laid the groundwork for her future music career.
