Events

1218: Babylonians revolt against Assyria and restore the Kassite dynasty. Adad-shum-usur, reigns until 1189 BC.
1215: The reign of Supiluliuma II, king of the Hittites began. Peace was maintained in the Hittite Empire during its reign, but Egyptian and Ugaritic texts suggested that Anatolia was in starvation.
1215-1209: reign of Pharaoh Ramses-Siptah. Hori, vizir; Hori, then Minmose, high priests of Amon; Sethi (year 1 of the reign) then Horus (year 3 to 6), viceroy of Couch. Ramses-Siptah is perhaps a son that Merenptah had, aged, with a concubine, or a son of Amenmes, so another usurper? Queen Taousert, the wife of Sethi II, is in power with Chancellor Bay, perhaps of Syrian origin. She might have married Ramses-Siptah, then a teenager. From year 1 of his reign, Ramses-Siptah went to Nubia, perhaps to watch a rebellion. He installed the viceroy Séthi there.
1210: Naval battle off the coast of Cyprus between the Hittites and the indigenous people. Hittite victory. First naval battle in history.
