Early Life and Career
Yoncho Arsov was born on September 12, 1929.
Playing Career
Arsov played as a midfielder for several clubs in Bulgaria, including Sofia, Air Force (Sofia), and Levski. He won three national cups with Levski in 1956, 1957, and 1959. During his playing career with Levski, he participated in 148 matches and scored 5 goals.
International Career
Arsov made two appearances for the Bulgarian National Team, both as a substitute. His first match was against Brazil on May 14, 1958, which Bulgaria lost 4-0. Four days later, he played his second and last international match against Brazil again, this time winning 3-1.
Coaching Career
After retiring from playing, Arsov pursued a coaching career. He graduated from a coaching school in Yugoslavia in 1966. Between 1963 and 1972, he worked as an assistant coach and later became the head coach of Levski Sofia in 1970. During his tenure with Levski, he won two national cups (1970 and 1971) and led the team to a championship title in the 1969-70 season.
In 1974, Arsov moved to Lokomotiv Sofia before coaching Omonia in Cyprus from 1976 to 2000. During his time with Omonia, he won seven national trophies, including three domestic league titles and four domestic cups.
