Yuriy Yurievich Toma

Yuriy Yurievich Toma (; born April 27, 1996) is a Ukrainian and Hungarian football player who plays as a midfielder.

Club Career

Toma began his career as a student of Transcarpathian football. In 2013, he played in the youth teams of FC Hoverla (Uzhhorod). He trained with the main team of the Premier League in the winter of 2015 and made his debut on May 4, 2015, replacing Ivan Rodich at the end of the guest match against Dynamo Kiev. At the post-match press conference, Uzhgorod's mentor Vyacheslav Grozny said that “Tom and all such guys are too early to play at this level.”

In 2015, he also played for amateur FC Uzhgorod. For the 2015/16 season, he was included in the main team of Hoverla. In the summer of 2016, he left the camp of Hoverla in connection with the termination of the club's existence. After that, for some time he played for “Munkach” from Mukachevo.

In September 2016, he became a player of the Hungarian club Kishvarda (also known as Nyíregyháza).

International Career

Toma appeared for the Kárpátalja football team in the 2018 ConIFA World Football Cup in London. He scored twice in the semi-final against fellow Hungarian diaspora team Székely Land, and scored a penalty in the final shootout vs Northern Cyprus to help Kárpátalja to their first title.

Personal Life

Toma is also known as György Toma. He was born in Khust, Ukraine, and is of Ukrainian and Hungarian descent.
