Early Life and Career

He comes from a family of musicians; his father Ilayaraja is a renowned composer, and he has a brother who is also a composer and singer. His musical career began in 1996 at the age of 16 when he composed the score for the film Aravindhan.

Breakthrough and Success

After an initial struggle, Yuvan Shankar Raja made his breakthrough with the soundtrack "Thulluvadho Ilamai" (2001), and developed as one of the Tamil film singers coveted in the mid-2000's. In six years, he established himself as a leading composer in South Indian cinema.
